Welcome to Crafty AF! By registering as a vendor, you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions. These are in place to ensure a smooth, respectful, and fair marketplace for everyone involved.
1. Eligibility & Vendor Responsibilities
- Vendors must list only handmade items. No mass-produced goods, dropshipping, or reselling is allowed.
- You may upload unlimited products, but must select the correct category for each listing.
- To maintain fairness and avoid internal competition:
- Products must not conflict with another vendor’s offerings. We operate on a first come, first serve basis.
- For example, if one vendor is selling polymer clay earrings, another may not sell similar polymer clay earrings — but distinct materials or techniques (e.g., beadwork vs. woodwork) are acceptable.
- All vendor applications and product uploads are vetted by admin before being published.
- If a potential conflict is found, vendors are encouraged to communicate directly and reach a mutual agreement (e.g., modifying or withdrawing a product).
- If no resolution is reached, the duplicate item will be removed at the admin’s discretion to protect the originality and diversity of the marketplace.
- You are responsible for:
- Setting accurate prices, marking discounts correctly, and flagging items as in stock or on back order.
- Providing clear and honest product descriptions.
- Monitoring and updating stock regularly, especially for variable products.
2. Back Orders & Variations
- Back orders are encouraged to reduce the need for physical stock — just make sure processing times are clearly communicated.
- Single product listings can include multiple images and descriptions.
- At present, variable products (e.g., same product in different colors or styles) can only be created by the admin.
- Vendors may upload images of variations and ask customers to specify their choice in the order notes.
- Alternatively, vendors may request admin assistance in setting up product variations, and must ensure they update stock and monitor changes.
3. Commission & Payouts
- Crafty AF charges a 6% commission on each sale. This helps keep the platform running.
- Currently, Direct Bank Transfer is the only supported payment method. PayFast integration is coming soon.
- Vendors may request a payout once their available balance reaches R50 or more.
- Each payout will be subject to a 2% banking fee to cover transaction costs.
4. Shipping & Fulfillment
- Vendors are fully responsible for packaging and dispatching their orders.
- Shipping costs are calculated by province:
- For orders from multiple vendors within the same province, the customer pays a flat rate of R89, and vendors must coordinate to ship together.
- For orders across different provinces, separate shipping fees apply.
- Shipping fees will be forwarded to vendors, who are expected to ensure timely and professional delivery.
5. Returns & Customer Relations
- Returns must be handled directly between the vendor and the customer.
- Vendors must approach all return or complaint situations with kindness, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Remember, poor customer service from one vendor reflects on the whole Crafty AF community.
6. Conduct & Fair Use
- Vendors must ensure all product content (images, titles, and descriptions) is accurate, appropriate, and does not infringe on the intellectual property of others.
- The Crafty AF admin team reserves the right to remove products or suspend vendor accounts if:
- These terms are violated,
- A product is found to be inappropriate or misleading,
- Or complaints are raised that compromise the integrity of the marketplace.
7. Admin Support
- Admin is available to assist with:
- Setting up variable products,
- General support,
- Guidance on how to use the vendor dashboard.
- However, the day-to-day running of each vendor’s store is their sole responsibility.
8. Changes to Terms
These Terms & Conditions may be updated at any time. Vendors will be notified of major changes via email or dashboard notification. Continued use of the platform constitutes agreement to any updated terms.
9. Vendor Activity & Community Engagement
- Crafty AF is a collaborative marketplace, and vendors are encouraged to market themselves and their listings. The more each vendor promotes their work, the more visibility the site and all vendors receive.
- Be kind, support each other, and share the love!
- Inactivity Policy:
- Vendors who are inactive for more than 30 days may have their vendor access temporarily revoked.
- Access can be reinstated by contacting the admin and recommitting to active participation.
- Customer Communication:
- Customer emails are sent to both the vendor and the admin.
- Vendors may send notes to customers at any time.
- Open, honest communication is especially important for custom orders that require customer input or approvals.
