At Crafty A.F. Artisan Friends, each item is lovingly handmade by an individual crafter — which means your order isn’t pulled from a dusty warehouse shelf. It’s crafted with intention, focus, and a bit of coffee-fuelled magic.
🧶 In Stock vs. Back Order
Our vendors offer two types of listings:
In Stock: These items are already made and ready to ship.
Back Order: These are made-to-order just for you and may take 7–15 business days (or as listed on the product page).
Each product will clearly state:
- Whether it’s in stock or made-to-order
- The estimated crafting time
- The expected delivery timeline
This model allows our makers to offer:
- Unique and customisable designs
- Sustainable, small-batch production
- One-of-a-kind pieces you won’t find anywhere else
📦 Ordering from Multiple Vendors
Yes, you can! But here’s what to keep in mind:
Delivery Timing
If your order includes items from makers in different provinces, parcels may arrive at different times. If you’re in a hurry, we recommend placing separate orders or choosing the “Help, I forgot!” option at checkout for a rush service.
Different Crafting Times
Each crafter has their own timeline depending on the item. If one product is ready sooner than another, you can opt to pay an extra shipping fee to receive available items earlier — we get the excitement!
Shipping Costs per Crafter
Shipping is calculated based on the number of locations your items are coming from.
- Ordering from three makers in KZN? One shipping fee.
- Ordering from crafters in different provinces? You’ll be charged per province.
- We’ll adjust and confirm your final shipping total on your invoice. Each product clearly shows the crafter’s location to help you plan.
🚚 Shipping & Delivery
Our makers are based all across South Africa and ship orders directly to you using Pudo locker-to-locker service.
- Flat rate: R89 (includes packaging)
- Heavier or bulky items (15kg+ or needing special packaging) may have adjusted shipping costs
- Shipping info is listed on each product page
- Shipping costs will be adjusted and invoiced accordingly if items are purchased from multiple crafters.
🔁 Ordering Multiples of an Item
Absolutely — but please note:
We value quality over speed — and we think you will too!
Large or complex orders may take extra time
Our crafters work solo, so they’ll keep you updated with realistic crafting timelines
💳 Payments
We’re in the process of activating PayFast for online payments — stay tuned! For now, we use direct EFT/bank transfer. Banking details are sent with your invoice once your order is placed.
- Payment is required before crafting begins.
- Some custom or made-to-order items may require a bit more back-and-forth (think colours, sizing, personalisation). In these cases:
- We’ll chat first
- Then invoice you
- And only start once the details and payment are confirmed
These items will be clearly marked on their product pages.
🔁 Refunds & Returns
Quick Summary (TL;DR)
